An American writer, producer, and actress, born as Dorothy Ann Goldstone in Little Falls, New York, USA. She graduated from Western College for Women in Ohio, after which she got a job as a newspaper reporter, sang on stage, and acted in a number of TV shows in the fifties until she focused on writing. She married writer and producer Ellis Marcus (1944-1990), they had three children, and he stayed with her until his death. She won a Primetime Emmy Award in 1976, and the Morgan Cox Award in 2000. She was a former Governor of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. She's known for Days of Our Lives (1977), Love Is a Many Splendored Thing (1967-1973), and Search for Tomorrow (1951). She died in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, California, USA, on December 3, 2014, at the age of 93.
