She is an American singer and songwriter. Her parents are Brandon Maggart and Diane McAfee. She released her debut album, Tidal, in 1996. Her credits include This Is 40 (2012), The Affair (2019), and Pleasantville (1998). She won a Grammy Award for Best Female Vocal Rock Performance for her single "Criminal" in 1998.
