British actor, born as Frederick Walter Hudd, in London, UK, on 20 February, 1897. He began his acting career in theater in 1919 and had worked in film since 1935, making his final appearance (posthumously) in 1964. His most notable works include Footsteps in the Sand (1939), Housemaster (1938), The Good Die Young (1954), and Major Barbara (1941). He died on 20 January, 1963, in London, UK.
