An Italian actress of Neapolitan origin, born in London, England, United Kingdom. She is the daughter of the painter Fortunino Matania and the granddaughter of the painter Edoardo Matania. She studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, as well as taking ballet, singing, and...Read more music courses. When the family returned to Italy, she joined the troupe of the Teatro alla Arte directed by Anton Giulio Bragaglia. In the second half of the 1930s, during the war, she was one of the most popular and sought-after young actresses in Italy. She is known for her appearances in The Montecarlo Story (1956), The Secret of Santa Vittoria (1969), The Nelson Affair (1973), and Don't Look Now (1973). She died on October 13, 1981, in Rome, Italy.
