American actress, born on September 25, 1953, in Topeka, Kansas, USA. Her parents are Galen "Buzz" Houdyshell and Louella Taylor, and she is the youngest of their four daughters. In 1971, she graduated from Topeka High School, and in 1974, she graduated with honors from the Academy of Dramatic Art at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. She started acting and appeared in several theatres in the mid-1970s. Her screen debut was in Third Watch (1999). Among her notable works are Only Murders in the Building (2021-2022), The Humans (2021), and Little Women (2019). She received four Tony Awards, one of which was for Best Featured Actress in a Play for the play "The Humans" (2016).
