An American actor, he was born in Somerville, Massachusetts, on July 7, 1871. Carle was married twice and had a child. He appeared in numerous films from 1915 till 1941, including Seven Sinners (1940), The Ghost Walks (1934) and Life Returns (1935). He was also a stage actor who appeared in many plays, including The Casino Girl (1900). He died of a heart attack in 1941, at age 70.
