An Iranian actress and director, born and raised in Tehran. She made her debut in the movie Golden Dreams (1951) and after that she starred in many films and series, such as The Indian Gift (1994), Eagle's Eye (1998), and At Home (1988). In 1956, she made her directorial debut with the film Marjan, making her the first female director in the history of Iranian cinema. After decades of working in cinema, she retired in 2004 after suffering from Alzheimer's, and then appeared in the movie Sperm Whale 2 (2017). She died on December 31, 2019 in Tehran after suffering from the disease.
