An American actress and singer of Indian origin, who has appeared in Bollywood films. She is the daughter of Jammu immigrants, and her uncle is the folk singer Dogri Prakash Sharma. She grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, and attended Oakley Elementary School and Dulaney High...Read more School. She then attended New York University, graduating with a BA in Musical Theater, and acted in several films. She has also released singing albums, was a member of the jury of the first English music talent show in India, and formed a rock band with guitarist, Randolph Corea. She made her acting debut with a guest appearance in the film Rock On in 2008.
