Indian actress, born on April 5, 1977, in Kolkata, West Bengal, India, to a Bengali Hindu family. Her father is a director and screenwriter, Anil Ganguly, and her brother, Vijay Ganguly, is an actor and producer. She studied hotel management and theatre, before being chosen for the lead role in a TV show. She made her debut when she was seven years old in Saaheb (1985), followed by an award-winning performance in her father's film, Balidan (1990). She is known for Anupamaa (2020 -2023), Sarabhai V/S Sarabhai (2004-2017), and Sanjivani: A Medical Boon (2002).
