An Indian actress, born in 1908 in Uttar Pradesh, India. She appeared in over 200 Hindi films over five decades, and was married to Ram Prasad Mishra, who was an artist. She married at a very young age, when he was 12, and began acting at a time when there was a dearth of women in films. She appeared in films such as Sholay (1975), Sholay (1975), Anmol Ghadi (1946), Bhakta Dhruva (1947), Daag (1952), Sunayana (1979), and Aatank (1996), and also appeared in the serial Buniyaad (1987). Leela died on 17 January 1988 in Mumbai, India, due to a heart attack.
