An American activist of Trinidadian origin who grew up in the United States and graduated from Howard University. He was prominent in the Civil Rights and Black Power movements. He appeared in documentaries such as The Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975 (2011) and Mama Africa (2011). He died on November 15, 1998 in Conakry, Guinea.
