A British actress, born in Surrey, England, United Kingdom. At thirteen, she left the Catholic convent school to pursue her studies at the Arts Educational Schools (formerly the Cone-Ripman Academy) in London. Four years later, she received a scholarship from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). She later became a member of theater companies in Worthing, York, and Scarborough. In 1959, she made her West End debut with the play The Marriage Go-Round. From 1963 until her passing, she was married to Francis Matthews, with whom she had three children. Both of them appeared in Just Like a Woman (1967). Her most important works include Wet Job (1981), Brat Farrar (1986), and Court Martial (1965-1966). She stepped away from acting in 1990 and dedicated her remaining years to her family and charitable activities. She died on June 20, 2001, in Esher, Surrey, England, United Kingdom.
