An English stage actress, born on June 5, 1906, in Osaka, Japan. Daughter of Reverend George William Rawlings. She studied at Oxford High School and Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford. She made her stage debut in 1927. She began her career with the Macdona Players, Bernard Shaw Rep., then Little Theatre, London and New York. She played many outstanding roles in West End and New York theatre. She has toured The Fanatics and Jill in Chance Acquaintance among others. She died on May 19, 1996, in Wendover, Buckinghamshire, England, UK.
