Russian actor born in Moscow, on August 27, 1896. He got married to actress Tina Blagoi, who stayed with him until his death. He served in the Navy of the Russian Empire in the First World War, then went to the United States and began his career in silent cinema. His first work was the silent film Into Her Kingdom (1926). Among his most known works are Torn Curtain (1966), and Made in Paris (1966). He died in Hollywood Los Angeles, on June 24, 1971.
