An English stage, television, and film actress, who grew up in Cumbria and initially decided to work in the theater as a set decorator. Gradually, while living in Newcastle, she took up acting, obtaining a degree in drama from the University of Hull, after which she studied at L'Ecole Philippe Gaulier. She appeared on stage in 2000. She's known for Dog Soldiers (2002), Doomsday (2008), and Inspector Lewis (2010).
