A German actor, born in Wilhelmshaven, Germany. He studied acting in Munich, between 1948-1950. From 1952 to 1967, he was a member of the Bavarian State Theater troupe. In addition to being a stage actor, he also worked in film and television series. He was awarded the title of Bavarian State Actor in 1961. He was also awarded the Federal Order of Merit in 1994 and the Bavarian Order of Merit in 1997. Among his credits are Peter und Paul (1992) and The Indian Scarf (1963). He died of heart failure on August 28, 2005 in Aschau im Chiemgau, Bavaria, Germany.
