An English-American actress, born in York, United Kingdom, and grew up in Hollywood, United States. She began her acting career and is best known for her stage career in London, including a season at the Art Works Theatre in the play Little Beats in 1941. Her father was the actor Clive Brook, and her brother Lyndon Brook was also an actor. She studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. In her youth, she wanted to be a dancer, but her actor father persuaded her to become an actress instead.
