An American actress, born on October 28, 1914 in Columbus, Ohio, USA. She attended North High School in Columbus, Ohio and is a member of the Hall of Fame at North High School. She attended Northwestern University, where she studied dramatics, and two ballet schools. Her Broadway debut was in 1941. She gained recognition for her dancing solos in Broadway musicals such as High Button Shoes (1947). She went on to gain experience in the dancing ensembles of such works as Something for the Boys and One Touch of Venus. A big turning point for her was the 1953 musical Wonderful Town, as well as 1955's Shoestring Revue, where she sang "Someone Is Sending Me Flowers". Her credits include Grease and Splash. She died of natural causes on June 22, 2008 in Englewood, New Jersey, USA.
