An American film and television actor, born in Millsboro, Pennsylvania, USA. He began acting when he was three years old. He played Mickey Rooney's little brother in the "Mickey McGuire" comedy shorts series. He continued working as a grown up and was skilled in both comedy and drama. He majored in journalism at Los Angeles City College, and was sports editor and public relations director for the Los Angeles Collegian newspaper. He specialized in wisecracking characters, and in the 1950s he became a television actor. He was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1981 for his television work. He married Shirley Bolingbroke (1962-2000) and they had two children, with whom she remained until his death. Among his notable works are Masters of the Universe (1987), Under the Rainbow (1981), Legend (1985) and Willow (1988). He died of heart failure in Glendale, California, USA, on December 23, 2000, at age 76.
