American actor born in Dallas, Texas, US on 19 November 1902. He was a member of the Screen Extras Guild. He made his film debut on Brown of Harvard (1926). His most notable works include Modern Times (1936), The Viking (1928), and All Quiet on the Western Front (1930). He married Frances Smith and they stayed together until her death. He died on 8 August 1989 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, US.
