A Canadian actress, born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and raised in Jamaica. She moved to Drumheller, Alberta with her family when she was in her teens. She studied communication and theater at Mount Royal University in Calgary before working as a professional actress in the early 1990s. In 2019, she won a Canadian Screen Award for Best Guest Performance for the TV series Mary Kills People. She also won a 2021 Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series for Schitt's Creek. Her other works include Narc (2002) and Lars and the Real Girl (2007).
