She is an American writer, born on October 12, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan, USA. She resides in UK since 1960s. She graduated from Mackenzie High School in Detroit, Michigan, in 1957. Later, she graduated in 1962 with an English degree from Wayne State University. She began her writing career as a co-writer, and she published her first novel in 1974, named "A Running Duck," which won the John Creasey Award for the best first novel of the year.
