Additionally, he served as the chairman of the U.S. Department of State's International Security Advisory Board, a member of the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission, a councilor for foreign relations, and a visiting fellow at the American Enterprise Institute with a focus on national security and intelligence. In the latter months of his 2002 term in the U.S. Senate, he joined the cast of Law & Order (2002-2007). As an actor, he is known for The Hunt for Red October (1990), No Way Out (1987), and Baby's Day Out (1994). He passed away on November 1, 2015 in Nashville, Tennessee, USA.
