An American actress and singer, born on May 20, 1958 in New York, USA, to Jewish parents. She was raised in Bethesda, Maryland, and went to Georgetown Day School in Washington, D.C. She studied at Oberlin College, and following her voice lessons with Frank Farina, she transferred to the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. She studied at Oberlin as an "operatic soprano," graduating in 1981, as she was interested in musical theatre as well as other genres of music. She is known for Enchanted (2007), and tick, tick... BOOM! (2021), and providing her voice for Pocahontas (1995)
