An Austrian mountaineer, born in Mayrhofen, Austria. He was the first European to participate in big wall climbing in Yosemite National Park, while the most prominent event of his career was his being the first to ascend Mount Everest without supplemental oxygen. He participated in Everest Unmasked and Kilian Jornet: Path to Everest.
