She is an American actress, born on October 22, 1990 in Dearborn, Michigan. The Fiolek family relocated to St. Augustine, Florida because Ashley was born deaf and needed to attend the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind, the biggest institution of its kind in the country. There she learned ballet, ran track, and played basketball, but after grade 4, she was homeschooled. She is a four-time AMA women's motocross national champion. As an actress, she is known for Switched at Birth and for her self-appearances in On Any Sunday: The Next Chapter (2014), No Ordinary Hero: The SuperDeafy Movie (2013), and Firsthand (2010).
