A British actor born John Emrys Whittaker Jones in Manchester, UK. His onscreen debut was on One of Our Aircraft Is Missing (1942). Other works of his include The Wicked Lady (1945), Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby (1947), The Trials of Oscar Wilde (1960), and The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1966). He married twice and did not have children. He died of a heart attack on 10 July 1972 in Johannesburg, South Aftrica.
