An American documentary filmmaker and photographer, born in Los Angeles, California, in 1987. Her father passed away when she was 15. Sophia received her BA in Photojournalism from Columbia College Chicago and her MA in Visual Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is best known for A Love Song for Latasha (2019) and Eyes on the Prize: Hallowed Ground (2021).
