An American actor, born in Sandusky, Ohio, USA, on August 20, 1884, as Frederick Alvin Kelsey. His notable work includes On Trial (1928), The Lone Wolf Strikes (1940), One Dangerous Night (1942), and Mesa of Lost Women (1953). Fred Kelsey was also a director and a writer, directing one-reel (10-minute) and two-reel films for Universal. He appeared in more than 490 films between 1911 and 1958. He also directed 37 films between 1914 and 1920, all of which were short silent films. Fred Kelsey made his film debut in A Left Hook (1911) and ended his career with the comedy Auntie Mame (1958). He died in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA, on September 2, 1961, at the age of 77.
