An American actor, he was born in Los Angeles, California, on May 2, 1908. William was married twice and had two children. He was a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He began acting in silent films since 1923, then focused on television from the 50s till the early 70s. He's known for Radar Men from the Moon (1952), Gone with the Wind (1939) and All Quiet on the Western Front (1930). William died in 1993 of leukemia, at age 84.
