An American actor, born in Portland, Oregon, on February 6, 1907. Gleason was married to writer and actress Cynthia Lindsay, and they had a child and remained with him until his death. He began his film career in 1928 and appeared in over 50 films till 1944. He's known for Off to the Races (1937), Fury Below (1936), All Quiet on the Western Front (1930), and A Tenderfoot Goes West (1936). Russell joined the U.S. Army as a private and died from an accidental fall in 1945, at age 38.
