Italian-American writer, actress, and novelist, born in Burlington, Vermont, to a father who was an economist who worked on resource management for the developing world, so she lived in many countries as a child including Ireland, Italy, the United States, and Malawi. She went to Trinity College Dublin. She settled in Ireland and has been living in Dublin since 1990. She trained as a professional actress at Trinity. She is known for Dublin Murders (2019), The Likeness, and Babel (2005).
