A British actress born in London, UK. She emigrated to the USA with her parents as a child. She studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. Before acting, she worked as a model, a personal shopper, and at a beauty salon. In her teenage years, she received vocal classes and sang in church. In 1931, she performed on Broadway. She made her film debut on The Return of Chandu (1934). Other notable works of hers include Dracula's Daughter (1936), Wife vs. Secretary (1936), The Corsican Brothers (1941) and The Hucksters (1947). She married 3 times and had 2 children. She died of a heart attack on 22 March 1991 in Redlands, California, USA.
