She is an American film actress, born on December 23, 1974, in Inglewood, California, USA. She is of African American, Filipino, and Caucasian descent. She developed an interest in acting at an early age during her high school years. She graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama and Art Film from California State University, Long Beach. During her studies, she participated in several plays and various screen productions. She is known for Love & Basketball (2000), King Richard (2021), and Across the Hall (2009).
