A South African professional surfer, a former world champion, actor, and writer. He was born on August 21, 1955, in Durban, South Africa. He is known for North Shore (1987), In God's Hands (1998), and Surf II (1983). He is married to Carla and has two children. He was inducted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 1995.
