An American singer and actor of Nigerian descent. He was born in New York, United States, to a Nigerian father. Nas began his artistic career by playing music, and he was known as "Nasty Nas." The nature of his song lyrics, which contained street terminology, gained wide fame. He released several singing albums, such as "Illmatic" in 1994. He sang and acted in several cinematic films, such as the movies Belly (1998) and Blood Diamond (2006), through the song "Shine on ' em."
