A British character actor born in Devon, England, UK. He received his education in Moncton Combe School, Somerset. He made his debut on the film The Love Test (1935). His notable works include Murder She Said (1961), Sherlock Holmes and the Deadly Necklace (1962), and Frankenstein Created Woman (1967). He worked in mostly comedy films like Rotten to the Core (1965) and horror films like Dracula: Prince of Darkness (1966). He played Dr. Watson, Sherlock Holmes's sidekick, in 4 films. He died on 6 July 1991 in London, UK.
