A Mexican singer, director, and actress, born in Mérida, Mexico. She spent most of her childhood in Mexico City, where she studied dance at the Dance Academy of Mexico, graduating as a teacher of classical, regional, and contemporary dance. She began her film career in 1968 and has since appeared in over 75 feature films and television productions. In 1977, she traveled to Los Angeles to study at the Lee Strasberg Film and Theater Institute. Her films include Innocent Voices (2004), No Man's Land (2020), and Evil Eye (2022), and her series The Mosquito Coast (2021) and Triptych (2023). She has won several awards, including the Ariel Award for Best Actress in 1985 for her role in Frida.
