A Russian actor and choreographer born in Moscow on August 9, 1896. He got married four times and had four children. Among the most important works of him: That's Dancing! (1985), The Red Shoes (1948), Carnival in Costa Rica (1947), The Tales of Hoffmann (1951) and Neapolitan Carousel. He created the world's first symphonic ballet, Les Presages, and many other ballets in the same vein. He died in Germany in 1979 at the age of 82.
