She is a Canadian film and television actress, writer, and director. She was born in Hong Kong to Canadian parents and raised in White Rock, British Columbia. She began working as a child with the Surrey Youth Theatre Company. She attended the Vancouver Film School after high school and earned a degree in acting there. After accepting an invitation to study at the Circle in the Square Theater School and Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City, she went on to finish a two-year professional workshop on Broadway. Despite launching her career as an actress in small roles in short films and TV productions, she directed and wrote the short film The Sight of You (2018).
