A British actress born in Suffolk, England, UK. She began working in film after a long fruitful career in musical theater in the late 19th century. She started her career in silent films then gradually shifted to talking films. Her notable works include Lorna Doone (1934), This Happy Breed (1944), Oliver Twist (1948), and Blanche Fury (1948). She married Basil Springett. She died on 22 September 1960 in Sussex, England, UK.
