An American actress, born on June 17, 1895 in Lafayette, Indiana. She was born in Mexico and raised in California. She attended Los Angeles High School and St. Mary's Convent. She worked as a dentist, a candy store owner, and a tax collector. While performing on a high school show, she was discovered by Lucky Louise's talent show, and immediately took her to the movies. She started with the movie The Romance of the Utah Pioneers. She made nearly 250 films, the most famous of which were The Bat in 1926 and No, No, Nanette in 1930.
