Son of actor and singer W.H. Denny and brother of actor Malcolm Denny.


During his career (1915-1966), he appeared as an actor in 130 feature films, 25 short films, and 31 television series, as a writer he presented 6 works, and as a director he made 2 works.


He appeared in the film that was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture, Romeo and Juliet (1936). He also appeared in two films that won the Academy Award for Best Picture: Around the World in 80 Days (1956) and Rebecca (1940).
