An American actress and model of South Korean descent, born in Rhode Island, United States, to South Korean parents who immigrated from their homeland to the United States. She attended Harvard University, where she majored in American history. Following a stranger's suggestion, she contacted a local modeling agency and began working there, and then worked in the French capital, Paris. She played Yoshiko Kawashima in The Last Emperor and the role of the lawyer Cheryl in the comedy series Seinfeld.
