American actor born in Chicago, Illinois, on August 19, 1908. He was trained for acting at Chicago's Goodman Theatre and began his career on stage from 1930. His film debut was Boomerang! (1947), and he often played corrupt lawmen or judges. He focused on working on television from the early 50s till 1968. He's known for The Manchurian Candidate (1962), South Sea Woman (1953), Too Late for Tears (1949), and The Asphalt Jungle (1950). Barry died in 1991 at the age of 82.
