A British actor, born on October 29, 1940, in Leeds, West Riding of Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom. After obtaining a BA, Jack studied acting, first at the Central School of Speech and Drama and then as a student founder of the Drama Centre London. From 1978 to 1986, he was a member of the National Theatre. He was also a regular member of Bill Bryden's company in Cottlesloe. He won Best Actor for his role as Roma in Glengarry Glen Ross. He is the father of actress Catherine Shepherd. His works include Bill Brand (1976) and Wycliffe (1994-1998).
