• A Jamaican actress, born to businessman Lewis Kelly, who founded the Kelly's brand of soft drinks and juices. During World War II, she went to London to study music. Upon...Read more completing her studies, she boarded a ship across the Atlantic Ocean from the United Kingdom to return to Jamaica. During the voyage, the ship was attacked by an enemy ship. She survived the attack, but was seriously burned. She became one of the leading Jamaican stage actors to emerge during the 1950s and 1960s, and is best known for her work with the Little Theatre Movement (LTM) National Pantomime. Lois co-wrote three of the LTM's theater productions, starred in several others, and worked alongside some of the most well-known figures in Jamaican theater, including Louise Bennett-Coverley, Oliver Samuels, and Ranny Williams. She's known for Meet Joe Black (1998). She died on April 8, 2020 in Kingston, Jamaica.
