An American actor born in Susanville, California, USA as Frank Randolph Cady. He married Shirley Katherine Jones (1940-2008), they had two children, and she stayed with him until her death. He performed in plays in school and then joined Stanford University, and after graduation, he went to London for theatrical training. When World War II broke out, he joined the United States Army Air Forces on the European front. After the war, he returned to Hollywood and began his career on the radio, then on stage, followed by cinema and television. He played supporting roles such as a pharmacist, store clerk, and janitor. He also taught acting at the university. Among his notable works are When Worlds Collide (1951), Green Acres (1965-1971) and Rear Window (1954). He died in Wilsonville, Oregon, USA on June 8, 2012, at the age of 96.
