A Dutch-born American vaudeville actor and comedian from the days of silent cinema, born in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Among his notable works are Le petit café (1931), The Awakening (1928) and and The Circus (1928). He appeared in American, French, German, English, and Italian films. His first cinematic work was the silent film The Yellow Traffic (1914), while his first talkie film was Broadway (1929), and his last film appearance was in Come Blow Your Horn (1963). He died of cancer in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA on April 19, 1965, at age 75.
