He was a Scottish actor, born in Scotland, UK. He started his career in the silent film era. Since 1917, he has frequently made an appearance in Hal Roach comedies and played supporting roles with comedians such as Charlie Chaplin, Charley Chase, and Our Gang. He is known for his roles in Stop, Look and Listen (1926), Her Dangerous Path (1923), and The Valley of Bravery (1926). He died on June 23, 1938, in Los Angeles, California, USA.
